Active Member

An Active Member is a veterinarian who holds a DVM degree and is permitted to engage in veterinary medical activities under the laws of Ohio. Membership dues are $175 annually.

Resident/Intern

Resident/Intern Members are Active Members who are currently in a residency or internship program. To qualify for this membership category, a supervisor must verify your resident or intern status. Membership dues are $50 annually.

New Graduate

New graduates are those who have graduated from a veterinary college this year. Membership dues for new graduates are complimentary for the balance of this year if the veterinarian was an OVMA Student Member prior to graduation. In the year following graduation, New Graduate Members enjoy a membership dues reduction to $85 for the year. New graduates and recent graduates are considered Active Members for purposes of enjoying benefits and having the right to vote.

Associate Member (Out of State)

An Associate Member is a veterinarian who resides outside Ohio but wishes to enjoy OVMA membership information and access to benefits. Associate members do not have the right to vote. Dues for Associate Members are $60 annually.

Sustaining Member (Retired/Disability)

A Sustaining Member is a veterinarian who was an active member of the OVMA but is no longer engaged in the practice of veterinary medicine for financial consideration due to retirement or a disability. Dues for Sustaining Members are $60 annually.

Life Member (Retired and/or age 70+)

An Active Member who has belonged to OVMA for 30 or more years and who have either retired or have reached age 70 can apply for Life Member status. Once conferred by vote of the OVMA Board of Directors, Life Members are entitled to the benefits of membership without payment of annual dues.

Student Member

Student Membership is available to veterinary students who are enrolled in an accredited college of veterinary medicine. Student Members of the OVMA are entitled to attend the Midwest Veterinary Conference free of charge, and are encouraged to participate in OVMA committees. In addition, Student Members receive all publications of the OVMA. Student Membership lasts for the duration of the student's veterinary schooling.
