FT Veterinary Technician- Mentor, OH

The full-time Registered Veterinary Technician assists the shelter veterinarians with all aspects of the treatment and care of animals at the Lake Humane Society. The RVT also provides training and support to the shelter staff, volunteers, adopters with regards to shelter medicine, disease control, and animal care.

QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of 1 year experience in an animal hospital and/or Humane Society is highly desirable. Current registration in the State of Ohio as a Registered Veterinary Technician at time of appointment and must be maintained throughout employment.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: Ability to assist veterinarians with daily surgeries. Prepare animals for surgery; induces and monitors anesthesia. Medicates and provides routine medical care and clinical laboratory tests to shelter animals. Maintains all surgical packs and autoclaves.
