VICIOUS DOG (Sears, B.) To remove pit bulls from the definition of “vicious dog” in state law, to establish a process by which owners, keepers, or harborers of dogs that have been designated as nuisance, dangerous, or vicious may appeal that designation, to define a “nuisance dog,” to change the definitions of a “dangerous dog” and a “vicious dog,” to require the owner of a dangerous dog to obtain a dangerous dog registration certificate, to prohibit certain felons from owning dogs under certain conditions, and to change the penalties involving ownership of nuisance, dangerous, and vicious dogs.

Signed: February 21, 2012; Effective: in 90 days

Before you head out for the Conference this week, use this checklist to make sure you’ve got everything you need to navigate the 2012 MVC.

Bring your confirmation packet.

If you registered before Feb. 1, you should have received a packet with your badge and any event tickets in the mail. There is a replacement fee for lost badges, so be sure to pack this envelope!

Print your notes.

There are no notes printing stations on site, so if you like to have hard copies of your notes, be sure to print them in advance. Use the access information provided in your confirmation. Please use all lower-case letters when entering the user ID and password provided. Please note that CD-ROMs are not being mailed this year. You may pick up your copy when you arrive on site.

Get directions.

If you are driving to the MVC, please be aware that Columbus roadways are undergoing construction. Check the MVC Travel page for directions, and refer to Buckeye Traffic for the latest highway closures.
