Workshop to cover proper drug use on farms

cowFood animal veterinarians are invited to a one-day seminar on April 24 to learn how hazard analysis and critical points control (HACCP) can guide on-farm drug use. In cooperation with the Wisconsin VMA, OVMA will present a proven, six-step plan for proper drug use on dairy and beef cattle operations. During this one-day workshop, you will be provided with skills and tool sets that will allow you to better serve your clients in the food production system.

OVMA announces fall education programs


Don't miss out on OVMA's fall CE programs!

The OVMA has just announced its Fall Education Program lineup, which will kick off on Sept. 28. Courses will cover Ohio sales and use tax regulations, professional use of social media, how to develop an effective veterinary team, and OSHA and record keeping.

OSU to host second Animal Welfare Symposium Nov. 30

This year’s event, set to take place on Tuesday, Nov. 30, will focus on two emerging issues for the livestock industries, which coincidentally have been the focus of debate in Ohio – handling of disabled or non-ambulatory animals, and euthanasia.

The featured presenter of the Symposium will be Dr. Temple Grandin, professor of animal science at Colorado State University and well-known animal handling expert.
