Goldenfeast recalls bird food due to possible contamination

goldenfeast-logo-r-2012-475x132Goldenfeast Inc. has issued a voluntary recall of several exotic bird food products due to possible contamination of Salmonella from parsley flake ingredients. No human or pet illnesses have been reported at this time.

Recalled products were distributed in Arizona, California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Illinois, Idaho, Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, Washington, Wisconsin, Virginia and Canada.

Products affected by the recall

No other Goldenfeast products are affected by this recall. Customers who purchased any of the products listed here should contact the manufacturer at 800-344-6536 Monday through Friday between 9 a.m and 5 p.m. EST for instruction on product return.

Recall on Iverhart Plus heartworm meds expanded

Virbac has expanded its recall of Iverhart Plus Flavored Chewables, citing that several lots were below Ivermectin potency levels prior to their expiration date. These products may not fully protect dogs in the upper third of each weight range against heartworms. This recall is an expansion of one issued in April for the same product.

Dogswell recalls jerky treats due to potential antibiotic contamination

Dogswell has announced a voluntary withdrawal for some of its dog and cat jerky treats due to possible contamination with unapproved antibiotics. The products were manufactured in China.

During routine testing of the company’s products, the New York State Department of Agriculture & Markets found that a sample of Dogswell Happy Hips Chicken Breast Jerky contained trace amounts of an antibiotic residue that has not been approved for use in the United States. Dogswell is therefore recalling Chicken Breast and Duck Breast jerky under the Breathies, Happy Heart, Happy Hips, Mellow Mut, Shape Up, Veggie Life, Vitality, and Vitakitty brands that are labeled with a best-buy date of Jan. 28, 2015, or any earlier date. Most of these products were distributed before March 1 of this year. No other products are affected.

Nature’s Recipe recalls chicken biscuit treats due to potential contamination

Nature’s Recipe is voluntarily recalling a limited supply of Nature’s Recipe Oven Baked Biscuits with Real Chicken, manufactured in one of its U.S. production facilities. This is being done as a precautionary measure, as the product has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. No pet or consumer illnesses from this product have been reported to date.

Dog peanut butter product recalled out of caution

Dog for Dog: DogsbutterFollowing a nationwide recall of peanut butter made by Sunland Inc., Dog for Dog has recalled its Dogsbutter canine peanut butter treat out of caution. The initial recall began after 29 people contracted Salmonella in 18 states. No Dogsbutter products have tested positive yet for Salmonella contamination, but CEO Rocky Keever stated the company wanted to err on the side of caution.

All the recalled products may be returned to the place of purchase for a full refund. No other Dog for Dog products are included in this recall, which includes products manufactured from May 1 through Oct. 1.

Boots & Barkley bully sticks recalled due to possible Salmonella contamination

Kasel Associated Industries is voluntarily recalling its Boots & Barkley six-count, 5-in. American Beef Bully Sticks, because the product may be contaminated with Salmonella. The company has ceased production and is working with the FDA to determine the source of contamination, which was discovered during routine sampling.
