Wouldn’t you LOVE to get rid of that student loan debt? As a non-profit, Shelter Outreach Services (SOS) of Ohio can qualify you for TOTAL LOAN FORGIVENESS after 10 years of an income-based payment plan! Are you thinking of relocating, and need a little money to help you make the move? We are offering a $3k signing bonus paid out after only 6 months of employment!

SOS of Ohio provides veterinary care to animal shelters, rescue groups, and low-income public. If you are looking to join a team of dedicated animal welfare professionals, this is the right job for you! We have two locations- a newly remodeled clinic at 3500 East Livingston Ave, and a clinic in the Franklin County Dog Shelter where we provide medical, emergency, and surgical services to over 10,000 dogs/year that come through the shelter.

Our goal is to make veterinary care affordable to everyone. As leaders in the shelter medicine field, we want pets to stay in their homes, and not be surrendered to shelters for cost of care. We want everyone to be able to afford spay and neuter to end euthanasia due to overpopulation. We are expanding all of our services since COVID has made it even MORE difficult for people to care for their pets.

The staff veterinarian would work under the Medical Director alongside our current team of 8 veterinarians. He/she would be responsible for providing surgical, wellness, and dental services at the main clinic (3500 E Livingston), and medical, surgical, and emergency care for the Franklin County Dog Shelter location. This is a full-time salaried position with most weeks running M-F, some Saturdays may be needed. On-call duty is shared between the veterinarians, and it is paid hourly in addition to the base salary (schedule flexible, only a few shifts/month). Salary is based on experience with a competitive benefits package available that includes health insurance, PTO, matching 401(k), CE, and employee discounts.

If interested in this position, please send a resume and cover letter. Salary is based on experience and mentorship is available for interested new graduates.

We provide the highest quality care, even though we are a low-cost clinic. Our non-profit status and excellent reputation with the public allows us to provide care regardless of owner income. If you truly love helping people and the community, you will love this job! It is a fast-paced environment, so qualified candidates should be physically prepared for long time periods in surgery and a high volume of exams/day.
