Bethesda, MD (Dec. 22, 2011) \u2014 The Ohio Veterinary Medical Association has been honored with a Silver Award in the Most Improved Magazine or Journal category of Association TRENDS\u2019<\/em> 2011 All-Media Contest. It was one of more than 450 entries in the association publications contest. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are extremely pleased to be considered one of the country\u2019s top association publications. As a service to its 2,400+ members, the OVMA compiles a variety of news, events and other veterinary-related updates in a bi-monthly newsletter. Though not scientific in nature, <\/span>The Observer <\/em>is equally important to OVMA\u2019s members. The newsletter offers a variety of brief articles covering practice management, finances, legislation and regulatory changes, and the popular \u201cCommunity Corner\u201d that are well suited to the busy veterinary professional. Recently, the newsletter, as well as the OVMA\u2019s Web sites and other informational materials, underwent a dramatic face-lift as part of the organization\u2019s goal to become more transparent to its members and the public. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

OVMA will be honored at the 33nd Annual Salute to Association Excellence, to be held Feb. 10, 2012, at the Capital Hilton in Washington, D.C. The winning entry will be on display at the event, along with the other winners. As well as being honored at the Salute to Association Excellence, this year\u2019s All-Media Contest winners will be featured in the January issue of TRENDS and online. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The TRENDS All Media Contest is an annual competition held exclusively for associations, recognizing the most creative and effective communication vehicles developed in the industry over the prior year. The 2011 competition included more than 450 entries in 22 categories of association communications. Association TRENDS is the national newspaper for association executives and suppliers, spotlighting the latest news, information and trends in association management for the professional staff of international, national, state, regional and local voluntary organizations.
