Dave’s canned dog food recalled due to high hormone level

Dave’s Pet Food of Agawam, Mass., is voluntarily recalling a single batch of Dave’s Dog Food 95% Premium Beef cans, which may contain elevated levels of beef thyroid hormone. The FDA analyzed the product after receiving a complaint that four dogs consuming it were found to have low Free T4 (fT4) and thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH).

    UPC Code: 85038-11167
    Date Code: 08/2020

The affected product was distributed all along the east coast of the U.S. and sold in pet stores and e-commerce sites. No other Dave’s products are impacted.

Pet owners are urged to discontinue use of this product and may contact the company at 888-763-2738 if they have any questions or would like to receive a refund or coupon for replacement product.
