COLUMBUS, OHIO — DEC. 3, 2024 — The Ohio Veterinary Medical Association (OVMA) is pleased to announce the appointment of its first Office Manager, Martin Mikosz. Martin brings more than two decades of management experience to his new role at OVMA, where he is responsible for providing operational leadership and financial recordkeeping for the Association and its charitable arm.
“Marty is a great addition to our team,” said OVMA Executive Director Chris Henney. “His experience with business operations in the veterinary industry will go a long way to supporting our office functions and our members.”
Founded in 1884, OVMA’s mission is to foster the core principles of stewardship, compassion, community, and lifelong learning in veterinary medicine. As a respected leader in organized veterinary medicine, OVMA is best known for hosting the Midwest Veterinary Conference, the fifth largest veterinary convention in North America. It is also affiliated with the Ohio Animal Health Foundation, a charitable organization that provides grants to animal-focused projects.
With 14 years of experience in the veterinary industry, Martin’s career includes stints at educational institutions, animal clinics, and corporations across the United States. Prior to OVMA, he filled the roles of practice manager, hospital administrator, regional director of operations, and consultant.
“I am very excited to join the OVMA team,” said Martin, who joined the staff earlier this fall. “I look forward to doing everything that I can to help advance the OVMA’s mission and to continue to grow and support the Midwest Veterinary Conference.”
Martin lives in Columbus with his wife Diana and has one daughter, who is working on her master’s degree at Texas A&M University. The couple has two cats and a red-eared slider. He holds a master’s degree in business administration from Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh.
