Diamond Pet Foods issues second dog food recall this month

Diamond Pet Foods is voluntarily recalling a second batch of dry dog food produced at the company’s South Carolina plant, which has since ceased production. The food may be contaminated with Salmonella, though no illnesses have yet been reported. The recall includes one production run of Chicken Soup for the Pet LoverÕs Soul Adult Light Formula dry dog food distributed inÊFlorida, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Virginia. The latest recall covers the following production codes:

  • Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover’s Soul 35 lb. CLF0102B31XCW 27/JAN/2013, CLF0102B32XWR 28/JAN/2013
  • Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover’s Soul Adult Light Formula 35 lb. CLF0102B31XCW 28/JAN/2013
  • Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover’s Soul 6lb. CLF0102B3XALW 28/JAN/2013

Consumers who have purchased the above products should discontinue use and discard it. This is the second recall of Diamond Pet Foods this month; the company recalled itsÊDiamond Naturals Lamb Meal & Rice dog food in early April due to possible Salmonella contamination.
