P&G recalls dry pet food due to possible contamination

The Procter & Gamble Company (P&G) is issuing a voluntary recall on certain lots of dry dog and cat food after testing revealed they had the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. Salmonella can affect not only the animals eating the food, but there is also a risk to people who handle contaminated products, especially if they have not thoroughly washed their hands after having contact with the products or any surfaces exposed to these products. No illnesses associated with these products have been reported at this time. Only these products are affected by the recall; no other P&G-manufactured foods or treats are included. For more information and a list of affected products, please visit the P&G recall page.
