Dogswell recalls jerky treats due to potential antibiotic contamination

Dogswell has announced a voluntary withdrawal for some of its dog and cat jerky treats due to possible contamination with unapproved antibiotics. The products were manufactured in China. During routine testing of the company’s products, the New York State Department of Agriculture & Markets found that a sample of Dogswell Happy Hips Chicken Breast Jerky contained trace amounts of an antibiotic residue that has not been approved for use in the United States. Dogswell is therefore recalling Chicken Breast and Duck Breast jerky under the Breathies, Happy Heart, Happy Hips, Mellow Mut, Shape Up, Veggie Life, Vitality, and Vitakitty brands that are labeled with a best-buy date of Jan. 28, 2015, or any earlier date. Most of these products were distributed before March 1 of this year. No other products are affected. To learn more, please read the company’s frequently asked questions, or contact Dogswell at 1-888-559-8833 or email us at info@dogswell.com.
