Berkley & Jensen products added to pig ear recall list

Dog Goods USA LLC of Tobyhanna, Pa., is voluntarily recalling all 30-packs of “Berkley & Jensen” brand pig ears, sold at BJ’s Wholesale Club stores nationwide. The products, purchased from a single supplier in Brazil from September 2018 through August 2019, have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.

Consumers who purchased these products are directed to stop feeding them to their dogs and return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration, together with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and state-level partners, is investigating a link between pig ear pet treats and human cases of salmonellosis. In July, the agency issued a warning to pet owners to avoid all pig ear treats as it searches for the source of reported contaminations.

To date, at least four other brands of pig ear treats have been recalled: Brutus & BarnabyChef TobyLennox, and Pet Supplies Plus.
